This article is concerned with the linear theory of porous Cosserat thermoelastic solids. The solution of the equilibrium problem for a right cylinder which is subject to resultant forces and resultant moments on the ends, and to a prescribed thermal field is established. First, the extension and bending of cylinders subjected to a plane temperature distribution are studied. Then, the case of a temperature field linear in axial coordinate associated with the torsion and flexure problems is investigated. The method is applied to study the deformation of a circular cylinder.
