摘要
The occurrence of life events is considered as one of the risk factors of suicidal behavior. It is supposed that the relationship between suicidal behavior and life events is not direct but is mediated through other risk factors, feelings of hopelessness in particular. The article is dedicated to relationship between life events and suicidal behavior in adult population and the summary of research findings associated to specific life events (interpersonal events, loss of job and somatic disease), which are presented as the most often precipitating events of the suicidal behavior in the literature. The next part is aimed at the association between suicidality, life sress, problem solving skills and coping mechanisms.
