Kinetic Analysis of Thermal Expansion of Natural Zeolite in Temperature Interval from 700 °C to 1100 °C During Isothermal Heating

Kinetic analysis of zeolite samples from region of Nizny Hrabovec is presented in this paper. The activation energy and preexponential factor in region of physically bound water evaporation and sintering is determined. Analysis is provided on compact zeolite samples with fraction of particles less than 50 mu m. Samples are prepared by mixing a zeolite powder with deionized water. After drying at room temperature for two weeks, the thermal expansion of the samples is measured using the horizontal push-rod dilatometer. Samples are studied in isothermal regime at temperatures 700 degrees C, 800 degrees C, 900 degrees C, 1000 degrees C, and 1100 degrees C. The relative thermal expansion was measured for a period of 2 h. Results indicate the presence of physically bound water in the zeolite structure at temperatures about 800 degrees C.
