摘要
The present study is undertaken to investigated the influence of mean stress on the fatigue crack growth behavior of a Ti6246 alloy in the near-threshold area at room temperature and at 500 degreesC. Tests were performed at various constant K-max levels in ambient air, high vacuum and humidified Argon. According to the environment, the temperature and the loading conditions, the respective contribution of the involved cracking mechanisms which can be fatigue-corrosion or stress corrosion cracking assisted by water vapor or creep-fatigue, is discussed. Then, a special attention is given on the conditions for the occurrence of on apparently abnormal behavior consisting in the disappearance of the threshold for sufficiently high K-max level.
