In this Rapid Communication, a switching manifold approach is proposed for synchronizing chaos. The effectiveness of this nonlinear control strategy is demonstrated by both theoretical analysis and numerical simulations on two typical chaotic systems: the Lonnz and the modified Lorenz systems.
