A significant feature in the total cross section for positron-helium scattering at the positronium formation threshold

摘要：
Detailed theoretical investigations of e(+)-He scattering reveal a significant step-like rise in the total cross section at the positronium formation threshold. This feature arises from the threshold behaviour of the s-wave contribution to the positronium formation cross section and its magnitude and extent are such that it may be possible to detect it experimentally in the near future.
