The first part of this article deals with the determination of intrinsic thermophysical properties of an ice slurry composed of an aqueous solution of ethanol with ice in suspension. In this second part, we present experimental studies of thermal and rheological behaviour of this ice slurry. In a first time, heat transfer in a brushing surface heat exchanger were investigated To evaluate the heat transfer coefficient between the ice slurry and the wall surface, a suitable correlation is developed The influence of ice suspension on the pressure losses for ice slurry flowing in straight lengths of tubes and in singularities was studied. Finally, the measurements of temperatures in a storage tank show a strong stratification with another distribution of concentration in ice and alcohol. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd and IIR.
