摘要
In this work, a hybrid plasmonic waveguide containing the elliptical nanowires of gold and ZnO with a low index dielectric cladding has been analyzed using the finite element method. The fundamental mode obtained here has been reported to offer a remarkably small effective area (similar to lambda(2)/80) with a very high electromagnetic energy confinement in the dielectric region at the telecommunication wavelength. The potentialities of this hybrid plasmon mode in different nanophotonic applications have been examined here by considering the effects of the operating wavelength and cross-sectional geometry on its modal properties.
