摘要
The compressive behavior of two aluminum foams has been investigated under quasi-static and dynamic loading, including uniaxial and two kinds of lateral constrained tests. The results show a significant increase in the collapse stress of the closed-cell aluminum foam in quasi-static case when lateral constraint is applied. However, the dynamic collapse stress under lateral constraints is surprisingly less than that in quasi-static case, and the difference between the three loading conditions vanishes. In contrast, in both quasi-static and dynamic cases the collapse stress of the open-cell aluminum foam under lateral constraints is always higher than that under uniaxial compression.
