摘要
A spinel phase of Si3N4 has been shock-synthesized from beta -Si3N4 at pressures of 20 to 63 GPa. The yield increases with increasing pressure and reaches almost 100% at 63 GPa. The lattice constant of spinel Si3N4 is 0.77440 +/- 0.00106 nm and the density is 4.012 g/cm(3), 26% denser than that of beta -Si3N4.
