Characteristics of cavity-stabilized flames in a supersonic flow

摘要
The characteristics of flames stabilized in a directly fueled rectangular cavity were discussed. It was found that the location of the flame varied as the mass flow rate of the fuel and the location of the fuel injectors were varied. When the ramp injection scheme was used, the flame moved into the downstream portion of the cavity as the fuel flow rate approaches the rich blowout (RBO) condition. The results show that heat release can suppress pressure oscillations in the flowfield sorrounding a cavity flameholder.
