Propagation of acoustic pulses in a medium with hysteretic nonlinearity prepared by preloading

摘要
The nonlinear propagation of the acoustic pulses in the medium with hysteretic quadratic nonlineaity, which was subjected to sinusoidal quasi-static preloading, is analyzed. It is demonstrated that this rather simple preparation of the hysteretic elements distribution can induce bimodular elasticity and can cause complete absorption of the acoustic pulses at finite penetration depth inside the medium.
