摘要
Baumert and colleagues lay out an ambitious framework and research agenda for integrating related, key areas of traditional interest to personality psychologists. I highlight the parallels between this type of integration and similar efforts in psychopathology research, possible approaches to distinguishing phenotypic structure and functional structure, and that, at least in the case of personality and substance use and substance use disorder, the relation between structure and process may be somewhat stealthy and lead to changes that aren't captured by traditional notions of state or developmental conceptualizations.
