摘要
Objective: To explore the best treatment of acute patellar dislocation (APD) through literatures review and summary. Methods We performed a comprehensive search in multiple databases to evaluate the disease incidence and potential risk factors, anatomy and biomechanics of the patellofemoral joint, complicated injuries, conservative and surgical treatments of APD. Results: Currently, large sample size, randomized controlled studies supported by definite clinical evidence are still lacking to explain the absolute advantages of surgical treatment for primary APD, non-surgical treatment should be considered first. Surgical treatment only targets patients with second or multiple dislocations to regain patellofemoral joint stability. Conclusions: Non-surgical treatment should be the first choice for most primary APD. There is still no best unified treatment strategy for APD, We need large clinical datas for further research.
