摘要
Attempts have been made to manufacture MICR cheque paper from indigenous hardwood species like Eucalptus tereticornis blended with some minor proportions of bamboo (Dendrocalamus strictus) and pine (Pinus roxburghii) pulps. Various chemicals required to be added to develop magnetic ink recognition characteristics such as sizing chemicals, dyes, iron free alum, sulphates, oxidised starch and potassium ferrocynide. The paper was subjected to sensitivity test. The results of the hand-sheets were compared with those of cheque papers used commercially The results of laboratory made MICR cheque papers were found promising.
