摘要
The reaction of photocatalytic oxidation of water with potassium persulfate in the presence of the photosensitizer bpy(3)RuCl(2)center dot 6H(2)O and the ruthenium nitride complex Li-3[Ru-2(mu-N)Cl-8 center dot 2H(2)O] has been studied. It has been found by kinetic and electrospray-ionization mass spectrometry methods that the catalyst for the process is the tetraruthenium complex Ru4N2O5+ with a molecular weight of 512.28 amu. The efficiency of the catalytic system (a turnover number of TON = 360, a O-2 quantum yield of Phi = 0.51) is higher than that of its oxygen analogue Li-4[Ru2OCl10 center dot 2H(2)O] (TON = 240 and Phi) = 0.2).
