摘要
Plasmas at high density and/or high-temperature state are produced using pulse power devices. Dense, cylindrically evolving plasmas are produced using pulse- power-driven exploding discharges in water. Shock-heated, high-temperature plasmas are produced also in a compact pulse power device. In contrast to the pulse-powered plasmas, properly moderated high-power ion beams can make a well-defined plasma over a wider range of density-temperature space. Their advantages and attainable parameter region are comparatively discussed as a driver for making the high-energy-density states. (c) 2007 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
