摘要
Because copper ion is no biodegradable and remains in the ecological system indefinitely, it is important and necessary to develop an accurate and sensitive strategy to monitor copper ion for human health. A cheap, effective fluorescence sensing platform has been developed for mercury ion (Hg2+) detection by using the ssDNA/nano-graphite as an optical probe. Nano-graphite can effectively quench fluorescence of the dye tethered to the DNA and Hg2+ is able to specifically bind to the thymine-thymine (T-T) base pair in a DNA duplex, which enables fluorescent detection of Hg2+ with high selectivity and sensitivity in aqueous solution. We further demonstrate its practical application to detect Hg2+ in a real sample.
