摘要：

The paper deals with e-learning as an alternative for competence development in logistics. Reasons are given why today's knowledge-driven economy requires lifelong learning and especially in logistics/SCM. Reasons for using the Internet are analysed and a couple of cases - VFH (Virtuelle FachHochschule) and BSVC (Baltic Sea Virtual Campus) - are described Experiences gained are shown and commented upon. Among the conclusions drawn can be mentioned: e-learning needs also presence phases; e-learning is very good for advanced programs like Masters; and e-learning is attractive for economic, time, space and opportunity reasons.
