Implementation of Learner Generated MOOC Through Inter-Institute Faculty - Student Peer Collaboration

The faculty & students from G. H. Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur (GHRCE) India and Pune Vidhyarthi Griha's College of Engineering & Technology & GKPIOM, Pune (formerly PVG's COET) India and Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB) India collaborated for creation of content for Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) for online NPTEL -SWAYAM platform for course on "Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and its Applications" as a semester Internship under the guidance of Professor (MOOC Course instructor) of Indian Institute of Technology Bombay along with NPTEL SWAYAM as nodal agency under Ministry of Education Government of India. This collaboration of three institutes and nodal agencies included 200 + students, seven faculty members, teaching and research Assistants, and officials took place for design, development and implementation of a massive online open course which was launched and has started functioning since January -2021 semester of NPTELSWAYAM. In addition to the above development and implementation of MOOC, the faculty and the students of the three institutes collaborated together for taking the work ahead leading to the development and implementation of several applications of DSP as efforts contributing towards the nationwide call of ATMANIRBHAR BHARAT. Going with the saying, 'Necessity is the mother of invention', the sole purpose of the ongoing collaboration presented in this paper is to qualitatively utilize the distantly located human resource for problems raised during pandemic regarding devising new methodology of imparting teaching learning and evaluation in online mode. The authors have presented the details of collaboration experience in this paper and have presented the outcomes of the efforts carried out by human resources of partnering institutes. The paper also presents the details of work in process and future planning and scope of the inter-institute work collaboration.
