摘要
Fuel Systems for Cummins Engines are designed to meet stringent performance and legislated emissions requirements. Accordingly, the fuel systems must provide higher injection pressures and less emissions deterioration factors than previous products. This applies to both on and off highway, heavy duty (300-600 HP) and high horsepower (>600 HP) products. Performance and emissions plus competitive requirements, for long durability, have led Cummins Engine Company to mandate higher levels of fuel filtration for their primary (and only) suction side fuel filters on these products. When the fuel filters on the CELECT N14, M11 and QSK19 engines were changed from a 25 micron to a 10 micron, this significantly reduced soot and foreign particle damage to internal components. Cummins Engine Company has issued a Fuel Filter Performance Standard which places specific requirements on fuel filtration for these fuel systems. Fuel filter suppliers have been advised of these new standards and have developed or are actively developing fuel filters to meet or exceed them.
