Lou von Salome was a great intellectual who managed to inspire great minds who, however, remained aloof, crushed by the society in which sheshe lived. Her meeting with Nietzsche changed her life and that of the philosopher who will remain in debt to that young Russian girl for life. This woman's nonconformity will leave its mark on her in many life times and is a trait that will emerge and make most of the people around her turn up their noses. The same friendship that Lou will have with Nietzsche and Paul Ree becomes at one point a great collective gossip.
