摘要
This Paper introduces the design of equiripple linear phase finite length impulse response ( FIR) filter by using computer aided method, which is also called optimization technique. This technique is very simple to use and FIR filter thus produce is shorter in length as compare to those developed by windowing technique and frequency sampling method. The Park-McClellan algorithm is used to find the set of extremal frequencies rather than the filter coefficients. The Park-McClellan algorithm introduces some unusual results in the design of linear phase FIR filters having more than two bands, this issue is solved by applying chebyshev approximation.
