摘要：

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, (C14H13N2)(2)-[ PtCl6], contains one independent protonated 2,9-dimethyl1,10-phenanthrolinium cation and half of a centrosymmetric [PtCl6](2-) anion. The Pt ion has an octahedral coordination. Intramolecular N-H center dot center dot center dot Cl and N-H center dot center dot center dot N hydrogen bonds help to stabilize the structure.
