Electric and magnetic field effects on optical properties of excitons in quantum dots

摘要
We show how to compute magneto- and electrooptical spectra resulting from the scattering of a plane electromagnetic wave on quantum dots (QD) with parabolic confinement, in the region of the excitonic resonances. The method uses the microscopic calculation of QD eigenfunctions and the macroscopic real density matrix approach to compute the electromagnetic fields and susceptibilities. Results are computed for InGaAs/GaAs and GaAs/GaAlAs QDs. Fair agreement with experiments is obtained.
