摘要
The competition between flow-localization-controlled and fracture-controlled failure during equal channel angular extrusion (ECAE) was studied. Aluminum-alloy 2024 in the T851 temper was used. To establish the plastic flow and fracture behavior of the program material, uniaxial compression and tension tests were conducted at room temperature. The results indicate that two distinct types of failure occur during ECAE, the alpha parameter in shear and the critical tensile damage factor from the Cockcroft-and-Latham criterion.
