Solid solutions of lead magnesium niobate and lead zirconate have been prepared by the conventional dry route. The dielectric spectroscopic technique has been used to study the temperature and frequency dependence of the relaxational behaviour. It is concluded from the temperature dependence of relaxation times that the system crosses over to the normal ferroelectric regime near x = 0.50, even though none of its two components is a normal ferroelectric.
