An efficient and green synthesis of 5-oxo-5, 6, 7, 8-tetrahydro-4H-benzo-[b]-pyran derivatives promoted by InCl3•4H2O under microwave irradiation

摘要
A rapid and facile preparation of benzo-[b]-pyran derivatives through condensation of chalcone and 5, 5-dimethyl-1,3-cyclohexandione under microwave irradiation in the presence of catalytic amount of InCl(3 center dot)4H(2)O has been developed. With its high efficiency, operational simplicity and environmental benignancy, this method may provide a useful alternative for the preparation of benzo-[b]-pyran derivatives.
