摘要
X-ray and Auger transition rates, X-ray wavelengths, lifetimes, and fluorescence yields have been computed for variously ionized neon atoms with one electron in the Is shell and every possible number of electrons in the 2s and 2p shells. The atomic model used is the self-consistent Hartree-Fock model with the inclusion of effects arising from the spin-orbit coupling. The results from the present calculation has been compared with those available in the literature. Good agreement is found in transition rates. Both the X-ray and the Anger transition rates increase as the total number of spectator elections in the 2s and 2p shells increase, whereas the fluorescence yields decrease with the total number of spectator electrons. The configuration-average atomic parameters calculated from the scaling law often used to interpret experimental spectra, are tested against those computed from individual transitions. The configuration-average transition rates and fluorescence yields obtained from individual transition rates vary significantly from those obtained using approximate scaling laws.
