摘要
It has been found useful to deconstruct the term 'emotion' into three major components. These include emotional expression, emotional state, and emotional experience. Emotional expression includes facial, vocal, and body action. Emotional state is a hypothesized differential internal physiological response. The idea of states remains controversial as to whether they exist. Emotional experience is the subjective experience - conscious or otherwise - that is captured by the verbal production 'I am happy'. Each of these three components make up the term 'emotional'. What cognitive processes are related to the development of each of these three components? Are these three components related to each ether and what is the relation between this connection and cognitive processes within the organism? Our model of emotional development touches upon these questions and provides a framework for understanding the interaction between emotional and cognitive development.
