Employees find the performance appraisal process useless, while managers acknowledge that the performance management systems have failed to add much value in the organization are examined. Findings - By using a systematic approach, human resource executives can offset many challenges and problems dealing with performance management. Originality/value - The paper contributes to performance management literature and provides value for practitioners searching for methodologies that are driven by accountability measures and outcomes that have interwoven benefactors.
