摘要：
This review discusses a new class of salicylate macrolactone enamide natural products with a new mode of biological activity. Total syntheses of salicylihalamide A and its congeners have led to the identification of further classes of compounds aimed at developing mammalian V-ATPase as a therapeutic target. Since the initial discovery of these compounds, academic laboratories around the world have taken a keen interest in the unique chemistry and biology of these novel new chemical entities.
