摘要
Fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) composites are high-strength fibres inserted in a polymer matrix with a unique interaction across them. Individual elements in these FRPs retain their own chemical and physical identities while combining to form materials with exceptional characteristics. Low density, high tensile strength and high modulus are the main characteristics of FRPcomposites. The main factors that affect load carrying capacity are interfacial bond between matrix and fibre, alignment of fibre in a matrix, and fibres' nature. Here in this review, a comparative account of the significant synthetic and natural fibre as reinforcement for polymer composites as well as methods for enhancing mechanical properties is discussed.
