A FDE Residual Inter-symbol Interference Suppression Algorithm with MBOK Modulation for UWB Channels

摘要
there are considerable residual inter-symbol interferences (ISI) after using frequency domain equalization (FDE) in ultra wideband (UWB) channels which have severe multipath delay spreads. An additional equalizer is usually utilized to cope with the residual ISI, such as decision feedback equalizers (DFE). In this paper, we propose an effective approach to eliminate the residual ISI of equalization where the FDE is combined with M-ary bi-orthogonal keying (MBOK), which converts the UWB channel to a channel similar to AWGN and then achieves very significant gains. Employing theory of zero distribution of channel transfer function, this paper also analyzed parameters which have influence on performance of the MBOK FDE scheme.
