Charged wings for flying fish: Mass spectrometry allows the investigation of chemical reactions at the molecular level with ease, speed, selectivity, sensitivity, and great flexibility. Modern mass spectrometry provides a bridge that allows chemical reactions that occur in the gas phase to be studied in solution, and vice-versa (see picture). © 2011 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
