摘要
Skin aging is a complex process that is subject to both extrinsic and intrinsic influences. In addition to visible signs of aging such as wrinkles and loss of elasticity, especially in the dermis molecular changes take place. A key factor is the reduction in the quality and quantity of collagen fibres and other extracellular matrix constituents. For oral supplementation with collagen peptides, improvements in facial skin quality have already been demonstrated in in vivo human studies. It was confirmed by objective, validated dermatological measurement methods that the oral intake of special collagen peptides over a longer period positively influences the skin physiology (lipid content of the skin surface, stratum corneum hydration, skin elasticity, skin smoothness and skin density). In the present 12-week study, the positive effects of a nutraceutical with bioactive collagen peptides (ELASTEN (R)) on skin quality were first investigated on the entire body (face, decollete, arm and thigh).
