摘要
This paper presents a software package to perform statistical analysis (SA) on dc-dc boost converters DDBC, Lamar-DDBCSiml v1.0. It is a valuable-complement for traditional time-domain analysis (TDA). The combined SA and TDA approaches are expected to result in a robust DDBC design. The goal of this SA-tool is to estimate the overall converter's time-invariant statistical performance parameters TI_SPPs. These are expressed in the form of numeric-characteristics. The paper demonstrates the need for the TI_SPPs-estimation prior to the traditional TDA. Conventional real-time simulators, using Multisim for example, display only individual device parameters such as voltages and currents. If anyone is interested in estimating circuit performance parameters such as: overall inverter-efficiency in converting ac-to-dc, the energy sourced and delivered to and from the storage-inductor, and the average power-output etc cannot be obtained through the traditional TDA. As, these TI-SPPs are a function of multiple device parameters. For structured-implementation of the boost converters one needs to perform both types of simulations. First perform SA to determine the range of the critical elements for the desired performance. This is then to be followed by TDA-tools such as PSPICE/Multisim. The analyzer developed is a GUI-application implemented using MS-Visual C++ Visual Studio .NET 2008. To test the validity of the package a test circuit was analyzed in three domains: first by simulating it in time-domain using NI-Multisim-10; second after bread-boarding it; and finally analyzing it using this package. Comparative results from the three domains found to be consistent, validating the package. This paper focuses on about a dozen TI-SPPs, typically sought, in DDBC-designs.
