We present the results of heat capacity and susceptibility measurements in the low-temperature range and in the magnetic field up to 9T for the intermetallic compound YbNi4Si. The phase transition into the magnetically ordered phase at temperature 2.7 K was observed. The magnitude of the electronic specific heat coefficient exhibits a tendency to a heavy fermion-like behaviour if one considers the lowest temperatures. (C) 2007 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
