摘要
The objective of this work is the viscosity prediction of the main fatty compounds derived from castor oil (i.e. fatty acids, triacylglycerols and methyl esters) extending a predictive method based on group contribution that was previously reported. The missing values of viscosity parameters for the hydroxyl functional group are evaluated through optimization using available experimental data for castor oil and its biodiesel. The optimization problem is proposed for three different functional groups and is solved using Successive Quadratic Programming method. Best viscosity values for castor oil and its biodiesel are obtained with parameter estimation for the group CH-OH.
