摘要
The Method of Moments (MoM) is an effective method for electromagnetic analysis of antenna arrays. However, for a direct matrix solution which is preferred when multiple array excitation configurations are to be considered, the computational cost grows quickly with problem size. The Characteristic Basis Function Method (CBFM) aims to reduce the degrees of freedom by generating physics-based macro basis functions. Here, the higher-order CBFM is applied to a two-dimensional (2D) MoM formulation for antenna array analysis. The effect of CBFs up to fourth order (primary, secondary, tertiary and quaternary) upon the accuracy, is experimentally investigated for different CBFM radii of influence and inter-element array spacings.
