Synthesis and characterization of tunable luminescence phosphor: Eu3+ and Tb3+ co-doped CaGd2(WO4)4 for potential

摘要
In this work, Eu3+ and Tb3+ co-doped CaGd2(WO4)(4) phosphors were synthesized by simple hydrothermal method. X-ray diffraction, photoluminescence emission spectroscopy, photoluminescence decay characterizations were performed to study the structural and photoluminescence properties. It was found that all the samples have a sheelite crystal structure with Eu3+ and Tb3+ ions incorporated into the CaGd2(WO4)(4) lattice. Under 377 nm UV excitation, the emission color of CaGd2(WO4)(4):Tb3+, Eu3+ phosphors can be readily tuned from green to red by changing the concentration ratio of Eu3+/Tb3+. These results show that CaGd2(WO4)(4) phosphor might be a promising phosphor for white light emitting diodes (WLEDs) applications.
