摘要：

Low carbon economy is put forward to cope with environmental problems caused by massive energy and material consumption in a global scope, which result in global environment degradation and climate warming, and improve sustainable development since 1990s. Low carbon tourism is a brand new tourism concept derived from low carbon economy. Rural tourism development connects closely with environment. Low carbon tourism will bring new chances for the development of rural tourism in China. In this paper, relevant concepts are explained firstly, then the inevitability for the low carbon Chinese rural tourism development is analyzed, finally several countermeasures are put forward to facilitate the sustainable development of rural tourism in China.
