Sexual differences in the annual cycle of the long-tailed ground squirrel (Spermophilus undulatus, rodentia, sciuridae) in western Transbaikalia

摘要
The sexual differences in the annual life cycle of the long-tailed ground squirrel (Spermophilus undulatus) in western Transbaikalia are generalized. Males emerge earlier than females and are ready for copulation. Females become ready to copulation just after emergence. Specific features of the early breeding period with elements of scent marking, sexual differences in nutrition, and expenditures of fat reserves are described.
