摘要
I present results of numerical optimization of the FBG wavelength converter for a bit rate of 100 Gb/s. The wavelength converter is based on the fiber cross-phase modulation (XPM) with subsequent conversion of the phase-modulation to amplitude-modulation in the FBG and it has an order of magnitude higher conversion efficiency then wavelength converters based on sideband filtration method and several times higher conversion efficiency then converters based on the nonlinear optical loop mirror. Simulation results show that a compromise can be achieved between the conversion efficiency, extinction ratio and transient effects in this type of wavelength converter even at high bit rates.
