Study of the efficiency of g-C3N4-loaded P25 for photocatalytic degradation of malachite green in aqueous and Pickering emulsion systems

摘要
Modified g-C3N4-loaded P25 nanocomposites were first used to construct Pickering emulsion for photocatalytic malachite green (MG) degradation. The photocatalytic degradation of MG under visible light was chosen as the model reaction in this study to evaluate photocatalytic activity of nanocomposites at the interface of aqueous solutions and emulsions. Results indicated that modified g-C3N4-loaded P25 nanocomposites are successfully used in the Pickering emulsion-based photocatalytic system to construct Pickering emulsions for the photocatalytic degradation of MG compared with conventional solution-dispersed photocatalytic systems. The photocatalytic degradation of MG under visible light was chosen as the model reaction to evaluate photocatalytic activity of nanocomposites at the interface of aqueous solutions and emulsions. The Pickering emulsion-based photocatalytic system provided a larger interfacial reaction area for photocatalytic degradation and achieved higher degradation rates and shorter degradation times than conventional solution-dispersed photocatalytic systems. High catalytic efficiency of modified g-C3N4-loaded P25 nanocomposites at the oil-water interface demonstrated that the proposed method can be an alternative strategy for conventional multiphase reactions.
