Structural, Dielectric and Electrical Properties of La2O3 Doped SrTiO3 Ceramics

摘要
Ceramic samples of La2O3-doped SrTiO3 have been synthesized via conventional solid-state reaction under the calcination and sintering conditions of 1000 degrees C and 1150 degrees C for 12hrs and 4 hrs respectively. The phase transition has been observed at temperature T-c= 270 degrees C revealing the cubic to tetragonal phase transformation. At room temperature (RT) sample have showed good dielectric constant of 57.5(0.1 kHz) and 23.1(5MHz) and decreasing at the elevated frequencies during the variation of 0.1 kHz to 5MHz. Dielectric loss (tan delta) at RT has been measured as 0.373 (0.1kHz) and 0.115 (5MHz). Thermoelectric power (S) and ac-conductivity (sigma(ac)) studies have been performed and both n-type and p-type conduction has been observed in TEP (thermoelectric power) plots. Cubic symmetry of the sample has been indicated in the X-ray powder diffraction study. Apart the samples have been characterized by FE-SEM and EDAX for micro structural and elemental analysis respectively.
