Calculation of a wave field using the method of local interpolating asymptotics

摘要
A novel interpolation method for the determination of the asymptotic similarity parameters is developed that can be applied to the calculation of the electromagnetic field in catastrophe-type caustic regions. The speed of this model is comparable to that of local methods; the model has the uniform convergence property like global methods, and, in addition, is more robust to the errors of numerical calculations. By the method of local interpolating asymptotics, the structure of amplitude distribution of the electromagnetic field in a parabolic plasma layer is determined near the butterfly A(5) cusp-type catastrophe domain containing one-, two-, and five-path zones.
