摘要
There is a need to use water effectively and efficiently, due to the scarce availability of water and it is the main limiting factor in agricultural production. Therefore, the objective of the present study was to evaluate the water stress response of four tomato landraces and a commercial hybrid, compared to an ideal irrigation regime. The variables evaluated during the growing cycle were: chlorophyll, leaf area, yield, weight per fruit, number of fruit, number of locules, firmness, total soluble solids and biomass. There were statistical differences (p <= 0.05) with all the variables evaluated (agronomic and fruit quality characteristics). The Cid F1 hybrid (Harris Moran (R)) under ideal irrigation conditions (100%) presented twice the leaf area of the Campeche landraces. Water deficit caused a decrease in leaf area in all genotypes, with the hybrid being the most affected (38%). The highest yield in four bunches at 100% irrigation was produced by the hybrid and Oaxaca (3.8 and 3.6 kg plant(-1)) and the lowest by the Campeche landraces (2.2 kg plant(-1)). The water deficit caused a reduction in yield, in the Oaxaca variety (64%), turning out to be the most affected. In conclusion, the genotypes with the highest yield were more affected by the hybrid deficit, which increased soluble solids, in those genotypes with the lowest yield.
