摘要：
The aim of this paper was to evaluate the features in the selection and operation of AC Motors for electric propulsion system for ships. Presented are recommendations concerning the design of these machines due to the specific field of application. Operation of engines is associated with the use of modern converters and are shown the directions of their development.
