Highly Accurate Radio Environment Mapping Method based on Transmitter Localization and Spatial Interpolation in Urban LoS/NLoS Scenario

摘要
In this paper, we propose a mapping method that can accurately visualize a radio environment by using fixed and distributed spectrum sensors in a mixed situation of line of sight and none line of sight in an urban scenario. The proposed radio environment map (REM) construction method adopts a hybrid algorithm of maximum-likelihood-estimation-based localization and Kriging-based spatial interpolation. As a result of Monte-Carlo simulation, interpolation accuracy of the REMs could be improved by 9.4 dB at the maximum, compared to the conventional method. The result indicates that our approach can effectively determine the sharing condition of spectrum use while reliably protecting primary wireless systems.
